Noahs Ark According to Wikipedia.org, 'The account of the ark was traditionally accepted as historical, by the 19th century the growing impact of scientific investigation and biblical interpretation had led many people to abandon a literal view in favor of a more metaphoric understanding.'

The biblical story of Noah building an ark to save his family and 2 animals of each kind from a worldwide flood is a matter of belief. No living man was around at that time so no one can say for sure if it really happened. Religion and the Bible are a matter of faith, there is no solid evidence and therefore you believe with your heart. It's up to you to decide what you believe.
