Obama Barack Obama, the 44th President (b Aug 4 1961 in Honolulu), is the son of a Kenyan man and an American woman. Detractors say he failed to improve economy, and exhibits socialist tendencies in leadership (Obamacare, stimulus packages). Fans say he ended Iraq war and halted economic collapse. He and Mitt Romney have similar polling numbers going into the 2012 election.
