Is pulmonary fibrosis contagious or genetic?
Little is known about the mechanism of the disease, but there does seem to be a genetic component and some sort of trigger - either environmental, lung injury, etc. The body actually attacks itself (autoimmune disorder) and destroys its own lung tissue. It is not contagious. Go ChaCha!
