About PVC Plastic
PVC stands for polyvinyl chloride and is a thermoplastic polymer. It is the third most widely produced plastic after polyethylene and polypropylene. PVC is often used because it is cheap, durable and easy to assemble. Many vinyl products contain additional chemicals, some of these additional chemicals called additives can leach out of vinyl products. Plasticizers that must be added to make PVC flexible are of particular concern.
