2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul polled a strong second place in a new poll revealing that he has steadily grown his support base in the first-in-nation voting state.Paul garnered 18 percent among likely Republican caucus goers, close behind Newt Gingrich who earned 25 percent. Ron Paul is becoming more popular.

About Ron Paul
Ron Paul was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 20, 1935. He attended Gettysburg College and earned a B.S. in Biology. He attended Duke University School of Medicine where he received his Doctorate in Medicine. After completion of medical school, he served in the U.S. Air Force as a flight surgeon. Ron Paul is the Republican Congressman from the 14th district in Texas. He ran for President in 2008, and announced on May 13, 2011 that he would be running for the GOP Presidential nomination.

Newt Gingrich is a former Speaker of the House. He was a college professor of history before serving as a Congressman. He is a candidate for the GOP Presidential nomination in 2012.
