Recyclable While technically Styrofoam is recyclable, most companies do not recycle EPS products because the process is slow and not cost effective.

Styrofoam is expanded polystyrene plastic, also called EPS. It's not biodegradable, so recycling is time-consuming & expensive.

Styrofoam is recyclable, but not easily. Sony has recently invented a new method but it has not been widely implemented yet.

Styrofoam is recyclable but unfortunately many kerbside recycling programs don't accept it and given its bulk, it's hard to store.
