About Jail
Jail is a place where a convicted and tried individual is sent to be removed from society for a determined amount of time. The individual is physically confined and deprived of personal freedoms. Jails in the US range from minimal security to Supermax.
About Federal Judge
A federal judge is one of the following judges within the US federal court system: circuit, district, appellate judges. Justices of the Supreme Court are also considered federal judges. The President appoints federal judges, while the Senate confirms the position. Federal judges have lifetime appointments, meaning they vacate the office when they retire or die. A judge can only be impeached through the US House of Representatives followed by a trial in the United States Senate.
