Is the movie "paranormal activity" based on true events

yea it is real,ever tried to look up"the actor" Katie Featherson on wikipedia?

It is real ever noticed that when he did have the camera it was during the parts that werent scary

great movie.. not actual footage nor have i found any proof of this being a true event.. @ Michelle, the picture is of the same couple you see in the film so i dont see how that would prove anything, ever notice how he keeps the camera perfectly still 100% of the time (when its not on the tripod)?.. camera would shake if it was actual footage.. none the less, GREAT movie

Actually the movie is not a real - that kind of footage is what we also called as MOCKUMENTARY also know as mock documentary. film and television in which fictitious events are presented in a non-fiction or documentary format. and just as watching the movie if it is real why they don't leave the house or why they leave the door open every time they go to bed. and as you can see they have neighbors

I'm not sure if it's true or not. There were some freaky scenes in the movie. I sure wouldn't classify it as "garbage" There are some weird things that go on. If it isn't true, good imagination!!!
