About Heavy D
Dwight Arlington Myers, better known as Heavy D, was born on May 24, 1967 in Mandeville, Jamaica. He was an actor, rapper, record producer, and former leader of the hip-hop group, Heavy D & the Boyz. Highlights of his career include singing the theme song for the television show, 'In Living Color,' performing the rap on Michael Jackson's hit single, ''Jam,'' and performing live at the BET Hip Hop Awards in October 2011. On November 8, 2011, Heavy D died at the young age of 44 in Los Angeles, California. His death was due to respiratory issues; no foul play was involved.
