In July 2003, Pete Docter the director of Monsters Inc, said they have been discussing ideas for a sequel, but nothing is final.

About Monsters, Inc.
'Monsters, Inc.' is an Academy Award-winning Disney/Pixar computer-animated film that originally released on November 2, 2001. The movie follows the story of Sulley and Mike, two monsters who work at a power plant that uses children's screams to power their world. When a child named Boo enters the monster world, they have to try to get her safely home.
