Is there such a thing as anchor babies?
The term anchor baby refers to illegal immigrants travelling to the US to have a baby so the child will be a US citizen. However, there are virtually no recorded instances of this; some illegal parents/mothers come here to give birth because the US has better hospitals than their home country, and others have been living (illegally) in the US for many years.
