Summer simile?
In the U.S. and the rest of the northern hemisphere, the first day of summer is when the Sun is farthest north (on June 20th or 21st). This day is known as the Summer Solstice. In 2011, it is on Tuesday, June 21 and for 2012 on Wednesday, June 20.
