Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni, born March 6, 1475 near Arezzo, Caprese, Tuscany, died February 18, 1564 in Rome, Italy, and simply known as Michelangelo, was an Italian artist and is often considered the perfect example of the Renaissance Man, in that he excelled in painting, sculpture, architecture, poetry, and engineering.
