The Vietnam War was a conflict-turned-war that occurred in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia from Nov. 1, 1955 and ended on April 30, 1975. It was a bloody struggle between nationalist forces attempting to unify the country of Vietnam under a communist government and the United States (with the aid of the South Vietnamese) attempting to prevent the spread of communism. The North Vietnamese won and communism took over after the US left. Y'all ChaCha back now, ya hear.
