Was it ever allowed for catholics or the pope to eat beaver?
Many voyageurs were Catholic. Many voyageurs also loved to eat beaver and used it to supplement their regular diet of dried peas. The Pope declared that the beaver was a fish and from then of the voyageurs were allows to eat fish on Friday! ChaCha!
