Was it hard for Jackie Robinson to be the first African American to play baseball?
Yes, it was hard for Jackie Robinson to be the first African American to play baseball. African Americans had to travel by bus. They changed clothes in farmhouses & shared bath water with teammates. Many eating places did not serve food to them. They had to eat outside or on the road. They were not permitted to sleep at hotels for whites. Many players slept on the bus.
