Was tiji japan hit by the earthquake and tsunami 2011?
From what I can find they weren't hit strong by the earthquake, but the tsunami was pretty bad in Taiji, breaking buildings and washing boats ashore.

On Friday, March 11, a 8.9-magnitude earthquake struck the northeast coast of Japan, triggering a 33-foot tsunami that flooded Japan's entire coastline. Hundreds of people were drowned in the tsunami created by the quake. The tsunami affected the U.S. and South American Pacific coasts, as well as Hawaii.
