What affect might a shortage of fossil fuels or mineral resources have on industry?
The loss of fossil fuels to industry would be catostrophic to the entire world. As an example, a small gasoline engine can convert the 38,000 kcal in one gallon of gasoline into 8.8 KWh (Kilowatt hours), which equates to about 3 weeks of work for one human being. We have become so dependent on fossil fuel, that to lose it, it would cripple us.
