What age do the skull bones fuse?
The soft spots, or fontanels, on a baby's head may actually get bigger during the first 2 to 3 months of its life to accommodate rapid brain growth. However, you can expect the posterior (back) to close by 2 to 4 months and the anterior (front) to close around 18 months. It can be anywhere from 9 to 12 months, though. ChaCha!
