What antibiotic can cure a sty?
Antibiotic ointments and/or steroid ointments are sometimes, but not usually prescribed to treat a sty. Rarely, systemic (oral) antibiotics are recommended for persistent or multiple styes. Using a warm compress or washcloth to the affected area for 10 minutes, 4 to 6 times a day, can be an effective remedy and speed rupture of the sty that aids in the relief of symptoms.
