About Water Pollution
Water Pollution is the contamination of a water source with toxins that change that water's ability to support life. It usually occurs when pollutants are discharged directly into that body of water without being adequately treated. Runoff containing oil and pesticides from roads and fields are another major source of contamination. Water pollution rarely effects individual plants and animals, but rather entire species and ecosystems.
