They can cause the skin to change color, itch, become warm, bumpy, dry, cracked, blistered, swell and might be painful. Rashes can be caused by any number of things from allergic reactions to measles. If a rash persists for more than a couple days, you should see a medical professional immediately as it may be a sign of something worse. Usually some calamine lotion does the trick though.
