AUG24 CNN: LA coroner concluded preliminarily that Michael Jackson died of an overdose of propofol, a powerful sedative given to help him sleep, according to court docs. Dr. Conrad Murray told police he gave propofol to treat Jackson's insomnia.

About Dr. Conrad Murray

Dr. Conrad Murray, cardiologist and personal physician, was born on February 19, 1953 in St. Andrews, Grenada. In 1980, he moved to the United States, and in 1999, he opened a private practice. In 2009, Michael Jackson hired Murray as a personal physician for his concert tour. The same year in June, Jackson died of a prescription drug overdose. Since the drugs were prescribed by Dr. Murray, he was tried for involuntary manslaughter and found guilty. He will serve up to four years in jail.
