A trade union or labor union is an organization of workers that have banded together to achieve common goals like better working conditions. Through its leadership, they bargain with the employer on behalf of members and negotiate contracts for employment. They often provided a range of benefits to insure members against unemployment, medical insurance, retirements, and legal resources. Trade unions sometimes enforce strikes or resistance until they achieve their goals. ChaCha for the win!
