Anemia is a condition that occurs when your blood lacks enough healthy red blood cells, which transport oxygen to the organs. Certain forms of anemia are hereditary. Anemia can be caused by blood loss, decreased or faulty red blood cell production or by destruction of red blood cells. Treatments of anemia include eating foods high in Vitamin B12, such as red meat and eggs.
