About New York Giants
The New York Giants are an NFL team based in East Rutherford, New Jersey, representing the city of New York. The team plays out of Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey which they share with the New York Jets. The Giants are currently members of the Eastern Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) and rank third among all NFL teams with seven NFL titles. The Giants also have the second highest number of players in the Hall of Fame with twenty-seven.
The team has several nicknames given to them by their fans, including "Big Blue," the "G-Men," and the "Big Blue Wrecking Crew." The Giants play in New Jersey but fans from New York and New Jersey have constantly battled over who they really play for. At one time in 1987, then mayor Ed Koch claimed the team were "foriegners", but as their popularity has grown, New Yorkers have been quick to claim them.
