A true Margarita is made from three ingredients. Tequila, Cointreau (a Triple Sec), and fresh squeezed Lime Juice.
Margarita recipe: 1 1/2 oz. tequila, 1/2 oz. triple sec, and 1 oz. fresh lime juice. Shake the ingredients with ice. ChaCha on!
Good answer, but quality of ingredients makes a big difference. I've tried a lot of margaritas at a local Mexican restaurant, and Cointreau is much better than triple sec. Also, Herradura Anejoy tequila beats the cheaper tequilas like Cuervo and Sauza. http://dadshouseblog.com/2009/08/04/best-margarita-recipe/
