What is s.o.s?
S.O.S is the commonly used description of the international Morse code distress signal indicating that help is needed urgently. It is one of the fastest and easiest to remember: 3 short (S), 3 long (O), 3 short (S). In popular usage, SOS became associated with such phrases as "save our ship", "save our souls" and "send out succour".
