About L. Ron Hubbard

L. Ron Hubbard was an American pulp fiction author who turned religious leader when he founded the Church of Scientology. Lafayette Ronald Hubbard (March 13,1911 -- January 24, 1986) established his career as a pulp fiction writer and became best known for his science fiction and fantasy stories. He then developed a self-help system he called 'Dianetics' in 1950. He then developed these ideas into a set of doctrines and rituals as part of a new religious movement called Scientology.
