About CMT Awards
The CMT Awards is an annual country music awards show that is held in Nashville, Tennessee and broadcast live on CMT. It's a fan-based show meaning the winners are picked by fans and not by a group of music insiders like the Grammy Awards. Based off of the MTV Video Music Awards, the CMTs goal is to be a fun alternative to the ACMs and the CMA Awards. The 2011 CMT Awards will broadcast live on June 8.
