In 1968, Dr. Spence Silver came up with the unusual adhesive and by 1977 a group of secretaries invented the Post-it notes.

Inventors of sticky notes were: Makoto Takada in Los Angeles. Patent title: Sticky Note Printing System and Sticky Note Printer.
