Ever wanted to sing in front of millions of people? American Idol gave everyone that chance when it debuted on June 11, 2002. People from all over would go to auditions around the U.S. to compete against one another and try to make it to the end and become the American Idol. The show is hosted by Ryan Seacrest.
American Idol started as a spin-off from Britain’s Pop Idol. The show has become the #1 most watched show in America according to the Nielson ratings. Randy Jackson, Simon Cowell, and Paula Abdul were the judges for the first 8 seasons until Paula decided to leave the show. Ellen DeGeneres has stepped up to take Abdul’s spot for the ninth season. American Idol has been and is still hosted by Ryan Seacrest.

Adam Lambert is an American singer and songwriter who rose to fame on American Idol. He came very close to becoming the first openly homosexual winner of the show.
Adam was born in Indianapolis but moved to San Diego when he was very young. He graduated from Mount Carmel High School where he became involved in musical theater and stage acting. While working internationally as a stage actor and singer he auditioned for the 8th season of the TV show, ‘American Idol’. He went through the 2008-2009 season getting great reviews and ended the season as the runner-up to the winner.
