The reason why school buses are yellow is because safety rules and regulations in the U.S. require that school buses be yellow.
Most likely because yellow gets your attention faster than any other color. People notice yellow objects first. Go ChaCha!
The color was selected because black lettering on that hue was easiest to see in the semi-darkness of early morning. Thanks!
