Why are some deer antlers white?

Topics: AnimalsMammalsDeer

Answer

Mary Mathis

Some deer antlers appear white because unlike horns, they are solid bone & are shed & regrown yearly. In some lights and settings they may appear pure white, but they are bone-colored rather than pure white.
