Slanting and retention of the epicanthal fold are normal in persons of Asian descent. They are inherent characteristics. ChaCha!

Asian eyes vary because they adapt to different climates. Far East Asians have more fat on their eyelids causing an inner fold.

I can't find a reason for why their eyes are that way, but the skin that makes their eyes squint is called an epicanthal fold.
