Why do cats hate water

Answer

Water hurts insulation capability of cat fur, making them cold. Cats from tropical areas actually tend to like water, however.

Not all cats hate water. In general cats hate water because they prefer to be warm and dry. They hate being wet and cold.

Not all cats hate water. Cats from warmer climates actually like water. It may be an innate trait picked up by their ancestors.
