Why do cats hate water?
Water hurts insulation capability of cat fur, making them cold. Cats from tropical areas actually tend to like water, however.

Not all cats hate water. Cats from warmer climates actually like water. It may be an innate trait picked up by their ancestors.

Actually, many cats enjoy water and at least one breed is known to enjoy fishing and swimming. I can actually bathe my cats.

If it's hot cats will enjoy water. If it's not hot cats will avoid water to prevent catching a chill. Thanks for using ChaCha!!!
