Why do dogs pant?

Rate This Answer

Dogs pant in order to keep cool. They don't have sweat glands like we do--they are mostly placed on the pads of their paws.

Dogs pant because they don't sweat like we do. Panting cools them off, like sweating does for us. ChaCha!

Dogs pant because they cannot sweat very effectively, and panting is the best way to get rid of heat and cool down. ChaCha on!
