The reason that scars and scabs itch so much is perhaps that when these tiny nerves try to re-grow, it's possible that they MORE?
They itch b/c your skin and nerves are working hard to repair themselves. That causes the itching.ChaCha.
Scabs itch due to the body healing the area and fighting the cut or infection.
As the wound heals, the scab starts to detach from the healed portion. This separation process stimulate the nerve endings.
