Why do we celebrate Halloween?

Boo! Grab your costume and get ready to trick-or-treat. Other activities include attending costume parties, carving jack-o'-lanterns, bonfires, apple bobbing, visiting haunted attractions, playing pranks, telling scary stories, and watching horror films. Falls on October 31st. In 2011, it is on Monday, October 31 and for 2012 on Wednesday, October 31.

Halloween is on the last day of the Celtic calendar. It was originally a pagan holiday, honoring the dead. Halloween dates back to over 2000 years ago. Today, however, most people see Halloween as a time for fun, candy and costumes.

Halloween has origins in the ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain. It was very similar to our modern Halloween.
