Why do we laugh?

Very little is known about the specific brain mechanisms responsible for laughter. But we do know that laughter is uncontrollable!

We laugh when the left superior frontal gyrus- part of the frontal lobe of the brain, temporal lobe or hypothalamus is stimulated.
