About 10 Things I Hate about you

Loosely based on Shakespeare's 'The Taming of the Shrew', '10 Things I Hate About You' became a mega hit after it was released in 1999. Starring Julia Stiles and the late Heath Ledger, teens and adults alike fell in love with this romantic comedy. Directed by Gil Junger and co-written by Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith.

The story line revolves around four teens: Bianca, Kat, Cameron, and Patrick. Bianca Stratford, Larisa Oleynik, is Kat's younger sister, an air headed snob who is popular in school. She has her eyes set on the school's most popular jock, Joey. New student, Cameron, instantly falls in love upon meeting her. In the Stratford house, however, the girls are not allowed to date. In order for Bianca to go to the school dance, her father says that Kat, her older sister, must also go. The catch is that Kat is a rebel, hates boys, and hates school dances almost as much as she hates boys. Cameron wants to be the one who takes Bianca, so he formulates a plan and convinces Patrick, the school's gorgeous bad boy (who everyone is afraid of) to woo Kat and take her to the dance. Through a series of humorous and touching events, Bianca realizes that Joey, the school jock, is a jerk and that she really wants to be with Cameron. Also, Kat and Patrick, though unexpected, fall deeply in love after forming a love-hate relationship. One of Kat's most famous lines in the film is at end of the movie when she's telling Patrick how much she hates him. She says, but mostly I hate the way I don't hate you. Not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all.

The TV spin-off series, '10 Things I Hate About You,' premiered July 7, 2009 on ABC Family. It was the highest rated 30-minute comedy to premier on ABC Family at the time. ABC Family renewed the series for a second season, which debuted March 29, 2010. The TV series aired its last episode, however, May 24, 2010.
