Curtis Jackson uses the stage name '50 Cent' and is an American rapper and actor from New York.

50 Cent grew up in the South Jamaica section of Queens, New York. His mother was murdered when he was 12. He became involved in drug dealing at a young age and was briefly imprisoned.

In 2000, 50 Cent was shot several times point blank and spent months recovering, but by then his music had come to the attention of Eminem, who decided to recruit him to his label.

In 2003, his first big studio album, 'Get Rich or Die Tryin,' was released and it was an immediate success. He started his own label and then in 2005 released his next album, The Massacre.'

In 2010 he released his 6th album, 'Black Magic.'

Besides his career as the rapper 50 Cent, Curtis Jackson has written two books, has appeared in several video games, and has begun a successful acting career.
