9 Memorable Sexual Innuendos from Video Games

9 Memorable Sexual Innuendos from Video Games

Some video games make overt references to sex. Mass Effect came under fire by Fox News in 2008 for angering parents with its blatant sex scene (which really wasn't as graphic as some fans may have hoped). This isn't the first time that video games have taken a walk on the naughty side of life. Fans of Duke Nukem surely remember the strip club level, and players of the God Of War series can actually create and control explicit scenes by pressing button combinations at the right moments. While these games don't beat around the bush when it comes to sex, other video games have taken a more subtle route by unintentionally creating sexual innuendos at key moments during play. Following are nine of the most hilarious accidental sexual innuendos found in video games.

9 Memorable Sexual Innuendos from Video Games

LandStalker

LandStalker was one of those generic RPG games that desperately wanted to be Zelda or Final Fantasy, but fell just short of entertaining. The familiar story line put you at the controls of the elf boy Nigel as he and his trusty fairy sidekick battle evil, hunt treasure, and eventually save the world. Along the way (possibly in the red-light district of early earth) Nigel meets a very inappropriate and forward chicken who appears to make a pass at him. The least he could have done is offer to buy him dinner first.

Ring King

Where in all of professional boxing is this considered a regulation maneuver? We suppose makers of Ring King intended for this to be a kneeling headbutt, but if anyone saw Evander Holyfield throw a man into the turnbuckle, drop to his knees and begin ramming his face into the guy's crotch, the audience would likely fall silent and gape in horror. Perhaps this could be the new version of the rope-a-dope: shock your opponent with a questionably sexual advance and catch him off-guard.

Super Street Fighter 2

Though the strategy guide doesn't clarify, it certainly appears that Street Fighter 2's Chun Li studied her martial art skills at a dojo behind a gentleman's club in Shanghai. Her provocative fighting stance helps keep her feet firmly planted and serves to distract male opponents while she blasts them with fireballs. On the plus side, if she happens to lose the tournament she could have a bright future as a back-up dancer on the set of a J-Lo music video.

Street Fighter Alpha 3

She might look like the girl next door, but Street Fighter's Karin has got some sass behind those golden locks of hair. If you are reading her suggestive comments, it means you lost the battle and she has apparently gotten to know you intimately. This is an underwhelming feeling for many players who might have hoped that involved more than a flying kick to the head.

Legend of Zelda

On his quest to rescue the princess Zelda, the legendary elvish fighter Link encounters this distracting villager that serves to put a dirty smile on any mature player's face. By the look of it, she must have really liked the sight of Link's sword to invite him in so quickly. If only all of us could wander around a town for endless hours trying to figure out what to do, only to be called into the home of a mysterious temptress with "magical healing powers."

Cho Aniki

Here's a fighter who loves to "flash." In all seriousness, this is a special move that could only happen in video games, and only by a man who looks like a cross between Zeus and the 2009 Chippendales model of the year. By tilting down his moon-shaped flying chariot, the warrior casts a deadly beam of light from his crotch that levels his opponent and brings a swift close to the match. Perhaps he had an intimate encounter with X-Men's Cyclops and their powers intertwined.

MegaMan 3

"Hard Man" is surely a foreboding opponent for many male players, especially those that may have performance issues. This character was a rough-and-tough brawler with a steel-plated protection suit and a stance that said "bring it on, Megaman, I'll always be harder than you."  With a name like that, players half expect Hard Man to heave deadly oysters at them in battle.

Super Smash Bros. Melee

Now there's one heck of a way to solve a dispute! While battling it out in a far off land, Yoshi and Zelda appear to share an intimate moment before getting back to the fight at hand. This move is so extreme it isn't even discussed in the Tantra. That's right Sting, even you could learn a thing or two from video games.

Mortal Kombat 3

The popular arcade fighting game Mortal Kombat 3 is all about beating your opponent to a pulp, but every so often the limbs stop flying and the blood stops spewing just long enough to give you a glimpse at something like this. This scene is made no less appropriate by the fact that the game's booming announcer commands "finish him," as this special attack takes place. Pictured above is not a piece of illegal adult content, but the preamble to Mortal Kombat character Nightwolf's "animality" finishing maneuver. Though pausing it at the right moment makes it look like a pretty direct innuendo, those who stick around for a few seconds longer get to witness the glowing wolf tear Jax limb from limb.
