The Air Force is responsible for aerial warfare in the United States. It was formed on September 18, 1947, making the branch the youngest in the military. The Air Force is also employed as a humanitarian service.

The Air Force employs aerial and support crew for air mission on behalf of the United States. The Air Force is responsible for logistics, air combat and SAR (Search and Rescue) missions. The Air Force is also responsible for the maintenance and deployment of the nation's nuclear arsenal. The Air Force's role in recent decades has increased with outside the earth's atmosphere.

Individuals interested in joining the Air Force must be at least 18 years or older, physically fit and hold a high school diploma or GED. Training is eight and a half weeks long, upon graduating an enlist becomes an airman. There are many specialties in the Air Force ranging from: aviation, medicine, engineering and science.
