Alex Rodriguez

Alex Rodriguez

When it comes to Alex Rodriguez, there couldn't be a more polarizing figure in baseball even if Santa Claus picked up a bat and glove (though Pete Rose might have something to say about that, and Barry Bonds, and Shoeless Joe . . . you get the point). A-Rod's paychecks, his difficulty in the playoffs and use of performance-enhancing drugs have mired his Hall of Fame credentials in controversy. Despite these, Rodriguez has been named AL MVP 3 times, was a dominant figure on the Yankees' 2009 World Series Championship team and is at or near the top of numerous MLB record books.
