Alina Cho is a general assignment correspondent for CNN's New York bureau. Alina Cho was born in Vancouver, Washington, to parents who were born in Seoul. She told CNN's American Morning that she was a cheerleader at her high school. Cho earned an undergraduate degree in communications from Boston College and a masters degree in journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. Alina Cho joined the CNN network in February 2004. For one of her recent assignments, Cho provided rare, live coverage from inside North Korea for CNN. Cho was part of the official press delegation traveling with the New York Philharmonic for the orchestra's groundbreaking concert in Pyongyang.
