Why Shouldn't You Mix Juice and Allegra? frugalcouponliving.com

If you read the label on Allegra allergy medication, you may notice it says to not drink fruit juice while taking Allegra. So why not?

According to the FAQ at Allegra.com, ''Allegra should be used as directed according to the product label. Maximum effectiveness has been demonstrated when Allegra is taken with water. Taking Allegra with fruit juice IS NOT a safety risk, but the effectiveness of the medicine may be reduced.''

Getpharmacyadvice.com says that juices like apple, orange and grapefruit can decrease the amount of Allegra absorbed by as much as 36 percent.

This doesn’t mean you can’t ever drink juice while taking Allegra; just wait a while after taking the meds to drink your juice. To be safe, it’s recommended that you wait at least four hours to get juiced after taking Allegra.
