Approval Rating

An approval rating is a percentage determined by a poll which indicates the percentage of respondents who approve of a particular person or program. Presidential job approval ratings were introduced by George Gallup in the late 1930s to gauge public support for the President of the United States during his time in office.

About Approval Rating

Approval ratings are opinion polls intended to gauge job performance by the President and Congress. Approval ratings allow Americans comparisons of how well they think public officials are doing compared to the nation.
