Around the world, fans of soccer or 'football' have been entertained by teams, players, and crowds who get into massive fights on the playing field. Whether it's a bad call or a penalty gone sideways, soccer fields have the ability to transform themselves into a cage fight or boxing ring. With culprits across all ages, genders and leagues, these clips show just how fun the sport can be.

In one of the most intense soccer games between Portugal and Holland, in 2006. By the end of the game when the fights break out there was a record total of 16 yellow cards and 4 red cards, with only one goal between them.

During a FIFA U-20 match between Uruguay and the U.S. in 2008, this massive brawl involves players, player's parents, referees, coaches, and who knows who else. The fight broke out after the pitch at the end of the game.

 

Not much has to be said about this unique situation. A fan starts the brawl with a referee and causes players to get worked up. I have no idea why, but watch as the security at the match bring out riot shields.

On June 2nd, 2007, while Denmark was playing Sweden, a fight broke out after a player punches an opponent straight up. After this the referee gets attacked by a fan, creating Denmark's biggest soccer scandal.

This video shows how players like headbutting more than just soccer balls. This is the 2006 World Cup final between Italy and France. Zidane headbutts Materazzi in overtime, and aggression followed. France lost the match 5-3 in a shoot out.

Here's a fist filled brawl between Adriano and Caneira back in 2008. No one should ever mess with Adriano. The anger in his eyes does enough damage.

Now here's an interesting fight between two soccer players at game in 2008. This is what happens when a small guy messes with a bigger player. After the second throw the guys gets knocked out.

I had to throw in a cat fight between two girls. During a BYU and University of New Mexico match Elizabeth Lambert plays dirty. She eventually gets suspended indefinitely. The tournament these two teams were playing in was the Mountain West Conference tournament in November, 2009.

Is this a playground or a riot. I can't tell the difference. China goes up against the British in early 2007 and there are obviously differences between them. I've never seen a brawl so childish, yet so big.

Here's a match that turned to a massive fight between China Beijing Guo'ans and the South Korea Pohang Steelers. With the Chinese in white, Korea gets dominated in this brawl, which was started by the South Korea. Game day took place February 10th, 2010.

July 4th, is not only America's Independence day, but also a day to remember this brawl between the Vipers and Twin Stars team A in 2009. This fiesta was at the Hmong sports tournament in St. Paul, MN. Those involved are more than just players. Notice the man in the white shirt running for his life.

In a Barcelona versus Atletico Bilbao game Diego Maradona does what he does best, fighting. The aggression and revenge comes out after being injured by an Atletico player three months prior. The whole team backs him up as well.

During a U.S. and Mexico game in 2009, with the game tied at 1-1, something stirs up American player's emotions. Notice the Mexican grabbing the American player and choking him. The game is only half way over. I can't imagine what the end looked like.

With David Beckham on LA Galaxy, a brawl breaks out with the Chivas. The match took place at the Home Depot Center in California. LA is in white and Chivas are in red. Jessie Mars trips up Beckham and watch as he responds ever so quickly.

Beach Soccer? I had to throw this fight in there cause it's just hilarious. Chairs are even thrown around. Uruguay just came from 1-0 to finish off Argentina with 2-1, when things broke loose.

In this finale brawl between Switzerland and Portugal, more than the players get involved. Everything starts with a fan running out onto the field protesting, and after that viewers are left in a daze as all hell breaks loose. The match eventually was abandoned due to the size of the fight.
