About Black Crowes

Known For: Hit songs Hard to Handle and She Talks to Angels

The band originally formed in 1984 under the name Mr. Crowes Garden as a tribute to 1970’s era blues-rock by brothers Chris and Rich Robinson. They changed their name to The Black Crowes in 1989 after scoring a record deal with American Recordings.

They reached their height of fame in 1990 with their first studio album, 'Shake Your Money Maker.' Hit songs like Hard to Handle, Jealous Again, and She Talks to Angels helped propel the band to instant success and the album went on to sell three million copies.

The band has released nine studio albums but none has compared to the success of 'Shake Your Money Maker.' They have also endured multiple lineup changes with the Robinson brothers as the only remaining core members.

Chris Robinson made headlines in 2000 after he married actress Kate Hudson. The pair had one child and later divorced in 2006.

The Black Crowes released their latest studio album, 'Croweology,' in 2010.
